TRACK FACILITES UPDATE
A $7.5 million infield renovation project is underway at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, featuring just over 64,000 square feet of new construction that will be ready for the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge on Saturday night, May 22, and the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 30.
The area under construction includes two restroom/shower facilities for infield patrons, a second garage area for competitors and a state-of-the-art media center. The Pit area and the track are not effected by the infield renovation.
Our host, Humpy Wheeler, will make the restrooms and showers available to the participants of the GURU Southeast Time Trial series when they are finished. Until the construction is completed in late May, there is no building in which to change clothes; so please plan accordingly. Additionally, at this time, parking on the infield is somewhat limited. We expect to be able to accommodate everyone's vehicle, just not in the areas that were previously used. When you enter the track through the tunnel, please look for CCTTA signs and follow them to the designated parking area(s). We're sure once you see the new facilities; you will understand this small inconvenience will make it better in months and years to come.
Thank you in advance for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at the GURU Southeast Time Trial Series at Lowe's Motor Speedways.
