CCTTA President Steps Down
It is with much regret that I find it necessary to announce that I'll be stepping down as the President of the Carolina Cycling Time Trials Association effective Dec 31, 2009. I consider myself very blessed to have worked with the many dedicated volunteers and to have played a part in the history of the CCTTA. I value the numerous, wonderful friends and acquaintances that I have made while I have been associated with the time trials at the Speedway over the past nine years. These years will always be fondly remembered.
I have anguished over my decision but because of a number of pressing personal issues, I know that at this time I need to refocus my time and attention. I believe I'm leaving the CCTTA as a viable, strong organization that will continue the Time Trial Series into the future. For me, the CCTTA and the Time Trial Series generates an exciting, competitive spirit and camaraderie amongst cyclists of all capabilities that can't be found in many other events. I sure this spirit will continue for years to come.
As the Time Trials move forward, you too can play a critical role in their continued success. The CCTTA is looking for clubs, teams and individuals that are willing to help produce the TT events and the organization. Only through the volunteers is it possible for the CCTTA to host the TT events. I strongly urge you to step up and take an active role in helping produce the Time Trials. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to volunteers@carolinatt.org.
I wish everyone much success in your time trialing and more importantly life. Remember, like in life, your most important opponent in the time trials is yourself. If you always strive to improve in whatever you do you'll always be a champion.
