Storm Cancelled June 11 TT
Although we were able to finish the Kids Fun Ride, immediately following the pictures of the kids in the LMS winner's circle, the skies became very threatening. Within 20 minutes the storm was upon us and major wind gusts that clocked at well over 40 miles per hour blew across the Speedway. The storm resulted in at least one large billboard on the backside of the track blown out and the structural metal and other debris was strewn across the track. At 6:15, as the rains began to fall, Race Officials postponed the start until 7:00 PM in hopes that the storm would pass quickly. After checking the weather radar, LMS and CCTTA officials conferred on both the condition of the track and the uncertain stormy weather pattern that was still east of the Speedway and decided at 7:10 PM to cancel the TT event for the safety of all concerned.
It would be our hope to reschedule the June 11 TT for another date. However, CCTTA officials need to speak with LMS management to see if another date could be made available for the CCTTA. Just as important as the track availability is the availability of the volunteers that make the TT events happen. Many of these dedicated volunteers take time off of their full time jobs to help produce the TT @ LMS.
